.jobs is a sponsored Top Level Domain (sTLD) designed to promote
employers' recruitment activities. The proposed format is www.companyname.jobs.
An employer would then use the companyname.jobs site for recruitment

What are the benefits of .jobs for the user?
Job seekers will be able to go to a firm's .jobs website to
look for employment opportunities unencumbered by the maze
of information companies may have listed on their 'main' site.
A .jobs website will assist the job seeker in quickly finding
the employment information requested.
When will .jobs be available for registration?
The .jobs Start-Up Trade Name Period has now begun. It will
run through August 19, 2005. Details of the Start-Up Trade

How can I register a .jobs domain name?

Will the .jobs TLD support the current Internet standards?
Yes, .jobs will work the same as the other TLDs (ex. .com,
.net, .info) with regards to DNS.
Must I be a SHRM Member in order to register a .jobs
domain name when it becomes available?
No, you do not have to be a member of SHRM in order to register
a .jobs domain name. Visit our .jobs overview for

Should I give up my .com domain once I register a
.jobs domain name?
No, .jobs domains names are not meant to replace your current
domain names, but to simply add to your portfolio as a specialized
domain name for recruitment purposes.
Am I allowed to use my companyname.jobs to show jobs
of other companies besides my own?
At this time, you cannot use your companyname .jobs to post
jobs of third party employers. Ongoing use of your companyname
.jobs is subject to the .jobs Use Policies.
What is the CompanyName.jobs Usage Policy (CNUP)?
The CompanyName.jobs Usage Policy (CNUP) Your companyname.jobs
domain name must be used for Human Resources (HR) related purposes,
and particularly for the purpose of promoting the HR interests
on your own company (such as your own hiring needs).
You may NOT use your companyname.jobs domain name for:
- Spam Adult content (i.e., porn)
- Cybersquatting
- Job Aggregation (i.e., third-party job listings not your
own)
- Any purpose prohibited by law
- Identity theft, phishing, hacking and distribution of viruses
- Defaming, Embarrassing, harming or harassing third parties
- Any act of fraud
You are responsible for the usage of your companyname.jobs domain
name at all times during the period of your registration. In
the event of any violation of the CNUP, .jobs reserves the right
to revoke, suspend, terminate, cancel or otherwise modify your
rights to your domain name.
